Yes

To be considered by Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for an audition fee waiver, the applicant should: 

  • be ordinarily resident in the UK (i.e. not just for the main purpose of education)

  • be applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course

  • have an annual household income equal to or below the eligibility threshold set at £31,139.

Requests will also be considered from applicants who are leaving residential care.

Typically, applicants will be in receipt of one of the following, and should be prepared to submit evidence as proof of their household income:

  • Jobseekers’ allowance

  • Income support

  • Working Tax Credits, Child Tax Credit or Universal credit

  • Housing benefit

  • Personal Independence Payments (PIPs)

  • Full-time Carers’ allowance

Audition Locations:

First Round- Filmed Speeches

Recall- For the Recall Audition, you will be invited to attend an in-person audition on campus. This is most usual for home students. International applicants will be invited to a virtual live audition via Zoom (Zoom is also available for home students who cannot attend in person).

Audition Process:

For the BA (Hons) Acting course, auditioning is a two-stage process - Initial and Recall.

Once you've paid your audition fee via UCAS, you will be sent an acknowledgement communication which will also ask you to submit an online recording as a YouTube link. Please submit this 2 weeks in receipt of receiving your acknowledgement email. For the Recall Audition, you will be invited to attend a virtual audition via Zoom. This will cover all the recall audtion elements.
