Our minimum academic entry requirement is 64 UCAS tariff points or above - these can be from any Level 3 qualification (eg. A-levels, BTECs, etc.) which attract UCAS points, and selection by audition.
You can see how many tariff points your qualifications would gain on the UCAS Tariff Calculator. International qualifications and others not covered within the UCAS tariff can also be accepted.
Normal offers may be higher and depend upon expected grades and audition performance. Exceptional applicants who do not meet this requirement, but demonstrate appropriate potential, may be accepted.
In the absence of formal qualifications, an indication of academic potential will be sought in your UCAS statement.

‘Please ensure that your use the correct coding for your chosen course. Applicants for the BA (Hons) Acting courses (Acting, Acting [CDT] and Acting [Musical Theatre]) will automatically be considered for all three courses from one application, so do not use separate UCAS choices for each of the Acting courses as you will still only get one audition.’

There are 4 main ways in which we offer free auditions to applicants to ensure maximum access to our training; if any of the following apply, you will be eligible for a free audition:
When you apply, we use your home postcode listed on your UCAS application and assess this against government data, which indicates areas where there are significant barriers to social mobility. Rather than focusing on income alone, we look at a range of factors to benefit an increased number of prospective students. We do all of this for you, so there is no need to provide us with any additional materials, although you can check whether you would qualify for a free audition by entering your home postcode. If your home postcode is listed as a number 1 or 2 in any of the following three columns, you will be eligible for a free audition:
Income (column H);
Education and Skills (column N);
IDACI: Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index (column X).
We provide free auditions to all students who engage on our outreach activity programme. Central works with a large number of schools, colleges and arts organisations to increase access to higher education, providing talks, workshops, tickets to Central shows and more.
If you are based in England and one or more of the below criteria applies to you, you can also email outreach@cssd.ac.uk to claim a free audition:
Your household income is under £35,000 per year
Are in receipt of free school meals
You have a registered Disability

Application Deadline:
Central strongly advises you to submit your application as early as possible, and certainly before the 25th January UCAS Equal Consideration Date. You must apply by this date to be guaranteed consideration for an audition/interview. Applications received by UCAS after this date are classed as late. We will try to give careful consideration to applications received after this date, but this may not always be possible, particularly for very popular courses.
