Admission Requirements: 

Normal entrance requirements include A levels, BTEC or equivalent qualifications, although candidates with an exceptional level of practical ability may be accepted without formal qualifications. Equivalent qualifications include WBQ, Scottish Highers, BTEC National Diploma/Certificate, International Baccalaureate, Advanced GNVQ, AVCE or Advanced Diploma (Level 3) and recognised international qualifications.

Selection is made on the basis of an audition process.

Applications to be made via UCAS Conservatoires

There is a one-off fee of £27 to use UCAS Conservatoires.

Audition Fee Waiver Y/N and Criteria:

Yes.

Applicants for an audition fee waiver must be a current UK resident, in addition to which the applicant and/or the household where the applicant has permanent residence should be in receipt of one or more of the following:

• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

• Income Support • Housing Benefit

• Council Tax support (not just the single person reduction)

• Income-based Employment Support Allowance

• Personal Independence Payments (PIPs)

• Pension credit (guaranteed element only) with an award notice showing annual gross household income of less than £30,000

• Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit or Universal credit with an award notice showing annual gross household income of less than £30,000

• Full-time carers allowance

• The applicant is under 18 and in residential or foster care

Audition Locations:

First-round auditions will be held over Zoom.

Recall (stage 1) auditions will be able take place at the College in Cardiff, and other external locations.

In exceptional circumstances we will be able to offer an online appointment. These include - being based 120 miles away from the audition location or based outside the UK; illness; an additional need that makes it difficult to travel. If you have been invited to attend a recall audition and you wish to request a recall audition online, please contact admissions@rwcmd.ac.uk, please ensure you include your UCAS ID, full name and noting why you wish to audition online. Please be assured that the method of your audition will not affect the panel’s assessment of your suitability.

Final Recall auditions are likely to take place in the week commencing 24 April at RWCMD in Cardiff.
